Our Full Spectrum Organic Hemp CBD oil

In the hemp industry the term water soluble is commonly used as an easy way to explain and understand how CBD can be absorbed in a water-based system. All CBD is naturally oil soluble, and unless the CBD comes from non-natural sources (i.e. synthetically made) or is altered to nano-sized particles, CBD will need to be changed through technology, chemistry, or encapsulation in order to make it water soluble-like. Technically, Zilis UltraCell® products are water miscible, or water dispersible, which allows the hemp product to be stable, evenly dispersed in water, and able to be absorbed in water-based conditions.

Many industries commonly use understandable terms to explain scientific technologies that may be complicated. This can commonly be seen in grocery stores with the use of the “non-GMO” claim. According to the FDA, non-GMO is not the correct terminology. The scientifically accurate terminology is bioengineered or synthetically engineered, but non-GMO is the accepted industry term that the general population recognize.

The support for this can be found in the FDA Voluntary Labeling Guidance which defines the terms “genetic engineering” and “bioengineering” to describe the use of modern biotechnology.

Modern biotechnology means the application of in vitro nucleic acid techniques, including recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and direct injection of nucleic acid into cells or organelles, or fusion of cells beyond the taxonomic family, that overcome natural physiological reproductive or recombinant barriers and that are not techniques used in traditional breeding and selection of plants (Ref. 1).

The term “modern biotechnology” may alternatively be described as “recombinant DNA (rDNA) technology” (Ref. 2), “genetic engineering” (Ref. 3), or “bioengineering.” These terms are often used interchangeably by industry, federal agencies, international bodies, and other interested stakeholders and are used in this guidance to refer to foods derived from new plant varieties developed using modern biotechnology. The term “genetic modification” is also sometimes used to refer to the use of modern biotechnology (e.g., Ref. 4), although the FDA’s longstanding position, as discussed later in this guidance, is that such use of the term is less accurate because the term encompasses the broad spectrum of genetic alterations that can be made in plants.

ULTRACELL

INTRODUCING ULTRACELL TECHNOLOGY

Regardless of how high quality an oil-based supplement is, if your body is unable to absorb the oil, you will not feel the benefits. It’s not what you take that matters; it’s what your body absorbs. UltraCell technology uses a proprietary advanced delivery system that works to maximize the benefits of UltraCell full spectrum hemp oil. Known as the “entourage effect,” this delivery system allows you to benefit from more than 400 naturally occurring compounds in the hemp plant— and it is only available from Zilis.

CHEMISTRY 101

OIL AND WATER DON’T MIX

When you mix oil and water, you know the oil simply floats on top. The molecules of oil are too big, making them unable to mix into a solution.

In order to benefit from our nutrition, food must be readily absorbed by our intestines, which are lined in a fine layer of water. Liquids and solids that are oil-based pass through our digestive system, unable to pass through the water barrier. When you take oil-based supplements, the majority of their benefits are not absorbed by your body, leading to a bioavailability rate of less than 10%. UltraCell® is different, with up to a 94% bioavailability rate.

SCIENTIFIC RESULTS

In laboratory studies, UltraCell was observed to be highly bioavailable with up to a 94% absorption rate, demonstrated in people who had their serum level tested hourly. This study also reported the level of CBD in serum remained at these elevated levels for hours, allowing more of the beneficial compound to continue to be present in the system. This study demonstrated that the Zilis full-spectrum hemp extract with UltraCell technology was quickly absorbed, highly bioavailable, and remained in the system for long periods of time.

FULL SPECTRUM SCIENCE

Unlike other hemp oils that draw upon isolated portions of the hemp plant, UltraCell is formulated with full spectrum hemp oil extract. By using the natural ingredients in the plant, and not actively removing compounds such as what occurs when processing the hemp plant to make an isolate (contains only a single cannabinoid), UltraCell can help support what is known as the “Entourage Effect”. The “Entourage Effect” is achieved when the natural compounds work together to create a synergistic effect. The saying “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” is why UltraCell was formulated to be a full spectrum product.
